Unfortunately, the iPad doesn’t let you transfer photos back to another storage device. Once the photos are on the iPad, your only options are to email them or post them to MobileMe. But maybe someone will come up with an app that will change this?

Hi, I was thinking of using the ipad as an intermediary. Since I only use 4 or 8 GB cards, I was thinking of transferring the images onto the ipad then offload them onto lower cost 32 GB CF cards. Using the USB connector, would you have any idea if the ipad would recognize and export to a blank 32 GB CF card?

Matt; excellent and articulate review; much appreciated! I actually went into the Astore on launch day as well and played with one a bit; definitely not a good move if one desires NOT to purchase, as you pointed out =). I escaped without one, unfortunately ERR fortunately… ha ha. Anyway, I was overwhelmed by the device as well as the crowd pressing around me, so I didn’t get to explore it that much, and found your published details enlightening. Upon first hearing news of this device’s launch, I almost immediately imaged it’s potential as a slick and killer presentation device for my portfolio. Hope I can pick one up soon. Need a MacBook Pro first…. ;-)

I was very disappointed with what they left out for the iPad initially (Flash, not much customization, etc) but now that I have seen what it really is, I will for sure be picking one up… probably next generation or so… (I am hoping for a built in camera for skype and other apps)

I’ll probably jailbreak it when I can.
